SHARDLESS arise from the band „The Prior’s Diary“ in 2003. During the time using this name, the band already developed to a solid bigness in the gothic metal underground.
After shouter Tom has left the band in 2002, in November 2002 Corinna Ketterer completed the standing line up as the new singer. Suddenly the songs appeared in a completely different light. As the songs were taken by catching melodies of the guitars ‘till now, the voice of Corinna opened up totally new possibilities. In 2003 SHARDLESS got the songs for the first album “Newday” by working. “Newday” was recorded and mastered in the G.Knüppel Studio of Markus Bruder from autumn 2003. The release was in spring 2004.
After publishing “Newday” the way of SHARDLESS went upstairs steady. From the expert press (Rock Hard, Legacy, Eclipsed, Metal Hammer, Heavy oder was?…….) came only positive appraisement. The song “Today” was published by the Heavy oder was? – magazine on its “Metal Crusade Vol. VIII” Sampler and SHARDLESS was presented by the Rock Hard magazine on its homepage in summer 2005.
Being participant of the Germany wide Coca-Cola Christmas Tour in winter 2006, SHARDLESS reached an excellent 2. place as result of the internet-voting and was distinguished as “band of the week” for getting the most votes during one week.
Concerning live-gigs SHARDLESS got the chance to support great acts like for example SCHANDMAUL or XANDRIA.
The late-breaking album „Fairytales… Out Of The Dark“, which has been recorded and mastered in the G.Knüppel Studio again, was released in February 2008. The new songs are bursting with energy and versatility. Although there is clearly audible, that this is a SHARDLESS album, the sound has made a professional progress and change. With this excellent production SHARDLESS will create a sensation within the underground and who knows, perhaps still some things more?
